5.0 out of 5 stars dryness, October 27, 2012
By

I get really dry skin, especially in the wintertime. I'm sure you're excited and curious which parts of my body experience the dryness, right? Well let me ease your delights! Under my ears is the main spot. In fact that's the main reason I bought skin cream to begin with. Flakey, crusty skin that peels on my lobes, on both ears. Skin also peels on the back of my ears. It's sort of annoying. Another popular spot is on the sides and back of my neck. I will wake up and see balls of dry skin on my bed linen that will absolutely *have* to be shaken off. This Aveeno lotion helps quite a bit. Applying enough lotion around bedtime will ensure that by morning my skin will be healthy and improved. My lips also get crusty but I have chapstick to take care of that one. My forehead and the tip of my nose are two other frequent skin-peeling locations. Aveeno skin lotion will fix whatever's ailing your skin, guaranteed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best moisturizer for cuticle biters!, October 25, 2012

I have been a lifelong cuticle biter, and have tried many different hand moisturizers in the hopes of taming my urge to bite. My husband really likes Aveeno products, and one day I decided to try this moisturizer... it is AMAZING! It transformed my once-dry cuticles overnight to soft, protected skin. This moisturizer is the best out there, hands down. ;-)

I don't know about you, but I don't like when a moisturizer is too thick, where you have to wipe your hands after using it. That's why I like Aveeno moisturizers. I had inherited a bottle of this stuff from my brother and found it useful in cold and warm weather. I'm happy with this product, and you will be too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for me after every shower; keeps my skin from feeling dry during winter, October 18, 2012

By Kris

I use Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion after every shower. I tend to have dry skin, especially during the winter, but this helps me keep my skin feeling healthy and moisturized. I should also note, this goes on without leaving me feeling greasy as some lotions tend to do. I also love that this is fragrance free; it allows me to use whatever perfume I want without having to worry about smells mixing in a bad way.

A great product rated 5 stars by 103 out of 135 reviewers

Beauty Basics - Eight Tips For Naturally Beautiful Skin

Not sure what to look for when choosing cosmetics? Need some advice on taking care of your skin? Here are eight tips to help your skin look and feel it's best.

1) Select moisturizers made with vegetable oils. The lotions, creams and body oils that you use should be made with vegetable oils, not mineral oil. Vegetable oils, (like olive oil, sweet almond oil, corn oil, etc . ) contain fatty acids which help to moisturize and soften the skin. Mineral oil is derived from petroleum and does not contain anything that helps to nourish the skin.

2) Look for herbs and herbal derivatives in your cosmetics. Herbs and their derivatives (essential oils, extracts, infusions) contain natural chemicals which soothe, tone and help condition the skin. Two herbs which are especially useful in natural cosmetics are Lavender and Tea Tree. The essential oils of both lavender and tea tree are gentle, natural antiseptics.

3) Once a week soak your feet in warm water, and gently exfoliate dead skin with a pumice stone. Follow up by moisturizing your feet with a natural foot oil or foot lotion.

4) Every week soak in a tub of bath salts. Salt, especially salts mined from the Dead Sea in the Middle East, are rich in minerals and help draw impurities out of the skin.

5) After a shower or bath, seal in moisture by using a body oil or lotion made from natural vegetable oils.

6) If you have blemishes and your skin is dry, moisturize your skin in the morning and at night with products that contain vegetable oils which are high in essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids help to soften and hydrate the skin and they can also help soothe minor irritations. Vegetable oils that contain large amounts of essential fatty acids are: corn oil, sunflower seed oil, safflower oil, borage oil, blackcurrant seed oil and evening primrose oil.

7) Look for toners and astringents that are made without ethyl alcohol, rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol. These ingredients are solvents that are extremely drying to the skin.

8) Every time you wash your hands, moisturize them with a natural lotion or cream to help them stay soft.

I hope these tips prove beneficial for you.

Beauty Tips

How to improve your complexion. Mix equal amounts of Cucumber and Lime juice and apply them to your face before having a bath. Then wait about ten minutes. Do it regularly and your complexion will improve.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is not something new, of course, it been around for centuries. If you are in pain and need relief you can take advantage of the different type of massages mentioned here.

1. Aromatherapy is called such because one or more scented plant oils are usually used in its practice. One of the most popular is lavender as it is well suited for stress related ailments.

2. Deep Tissue Massage. As the name suggest this has an effect on deeper layers of muscles and their connective tissues and the masseuse will use slow strokes better known as friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. The advantage of this type of treatment is the effect it has on chronically painful and tight muscles, postural problems, repetitive strain, and recovery from injury.

3. Thai massage aligns the energies of the body using gentle pressure on particular points. It also includes compression's and stretches and is somewhat similar to yoga but in these circumstances you don’t actually do anything except go with the flow.

4. Reflexology is sometimes known as foot massage because it involves applying pressure to certain points on the foot. This is because some people believe that the foot corresponds to certain organs and systems so what you do to the foot can affect other parts of the body.

5. Swedish massage. This can help to alleviate muscle pain and stress and has become the most common type of massage in the US. This is because the massage is relaxing and gentle with the masseuse using long strokes, kneading and circular movements using either massage lotion or oils.

6. Shiatsu. This is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The masseuse will use finger pressure in a rhythmic sequence on acupuncture meridians. Each point is held for a number of seconds to improve the flow of energy and assist the body regain balance. Most people say that it is relaxing but firm. The best part is that there is no soreness afterwards.

7. Hot Stone Massage. In this procedure heated smooth heated stones are put on particular in an attempt to loosen tight muscles and balance energy centers in the body. At times, the masseuse may also apply gentle pressure especially for those who have muscle tension.

8. Back Massage. This is self explanatory – The aim is obviously to try and relieve tension in the back possibly caused by lifting heavy objects or just driving for long periods.

9. Sports massage. This is primarily designed for people involved in sports activities but the spin offs of this kind of treatment can benefit all of us, since it helps not only  professional athletes but can help prevent and treat all types of physical injuries.

There are many other kinds of massage therapy aside from those mentioned here but these are the most popular ones.

Beauty Tips

If you have an important date and want to look sexy. one of the best ways you can achieve this is through your eye makeup, particularly the "smokey eye" look. Usually you would create this by using thick black or very dark charcoal hues but there is now on the market some really good deep blue and purple colors that can highlight your eye color and give you that sexy, irresistible look. Start by using an eye shadow primer and make sure you do the entire eyelid then just brush lightly the light color in the palette all over your eyes. Then you will need to use a medium shade from your lash line right to the crease of the eye, making sure you blend it well. Finally use a crease brush and apply using the darkest color to your crease and finally blend well. Have a great date!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment purchased at Amazon.com, October 14, 2012
By
Norma Robbins (Glendale, Arizona, US)

I really like this night cream. It goes on smoothly, especially after using the Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion cream. My skin feels really soft. I have only used it a couple of times since purchasing it, so can't say it has really changed my skin, as far as the texture & appearance. I think I will have to use it for 2 or 3 months, before seeing any improvement in my skin.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the Olay recovery moisturizing treatment. In the past,I have purchased and used items that cost twice as much, but did not give me the results they promised. This product does give results. I can see a difference in the softness of my skin, and the dark spots from sun damage have faded significantly.
